Size Guide

Traditionally in Palestine, women’s garments were made of hand-woven fabrics made of linen or cotton, imported from Syria and Egypt, or sourced out from the smaller local mills. Most -if not all- the fabric was used with no waste to create a woman’s dress “Thob” which consists of separate panels joint together after being embellished by embroidery. An open-weave cotton fabric, produced locally, served as an aid for the embroidery process, substituted nowadays with a “waste canvas”.

In this tutorial, you will be able to produce this dress from a simple sewing pattern, and embellish it with this embroidery motif.
